UNDERRATED

‘Legends of Tomorrow’ (The CW, 2016 – )

Starting off the list we have ‘Legends of Tomorrow’, the latest offering from The CW, the channel behind ‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’. Set in the same universe as the other shows, this superhero adventure bands together unlikely heroes as they embark on a time travelling journey to save the world from the menacing Vandal Savage. It contains some of the best loved characters from the DC Universe including Atom and Sara Lance. The first season was a little shaky at times but ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ will prove to be hugely popular with comic fans.

MUST-SEE

‘Daredevil’ (Netflix, 2015 – )

Known for their award winning shows such as ‘House of Cards’ and ‘Orange is the New Black’, Netflix took a daring risk delving into the comic world with ‘Daredevil’. The risk paid off masively as the streaming site produced one of the best comic shows of all time. Forget the 2003 film, this show best represents the character of Matt Murdock/Daredevil as it explores the blind heroes origins. Actor Charlie Cox steps into the role, proving to be the perfect casting, whilst Vincent D’Onofrio steals the show with his take on Wilson Fisk. The show is dark, gritty and violent, and proved you don’t have to be a comic fan to enjoy its sheer epicness.

This cartoon is more kid friendly than the others on the list, but will prove popular with comic fans.

UNEXPECTED

‘The X-Files’ (FOX, 1993 – 2016)

Moving on from the superhero genre, ‘The X-Files’ is an epic 90s series that spooked people all over the world for many years. The show follows agents Mulder and Scully as they battle against the paranormal that could be linked to out of this world beings. The intro itself, though iconic, is hugely creepy and caught people’s attention before there was even a second of actual footage. Even after it ended ‘The X-Files’ still remained hugely popular, spawning two movies and a new series that brought actors Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny back to their best loved roles to once again battle against an array of creepy criminals.
