Rachel Kelly is a London-based author and writer with a special interest in how the arts, particularly poetry and literature, can help those with poor mental health. Her memoir Black Rainbow, published by Hodder & Stoughton in April 2014, was a Sunday Times top ten bestseller and won the Spear’s Best First Book Award in October of that year.
All author proceeds go to mental health charities SANE and United Response. Rachel spent ten years working at The Times as a reporter, feature writer and columnist on alternative health and now writes regularly for national newspapers and magazines.
Rachel also leads poetry workshops and gives talks on mental health awareness to schools, universities, festivals and businesses and in October 2014 she was made an official SANE Ambassador.
