How to Do Social Media for New App: Share, Like, Comment

Too many times I have been disappointed by clicking on a promising post on my news feed and was taken through to a slow-loading, non-related, advert bombarded web page.

This is the way not to do social media, ever!

‘Don’t copy and paste links, take the time to give your social media posts a unique voice, a perfectly sized image and a relevant link for more information.’

When you have gained the trust of a person by acquiring their Like or Follow, the last thing you want to do is annoy them or insult them by providing something completely irrelevant, this way you will damage the reputation of your brand before you even have a brand.

So if you are thinking about apps social media marketing, do these simple things and make the people that join your social media bubble happy.

STEP 1: SHARE

So, how to do social media for new app?

The thing is that your app might not even be available to the public when you decide to start your social media activity, which is fine.

For a new mobile app it is essential to capture what the app will offer through unique yet popular content that is already out there. If like itcher your app offers entertainment, you already have a head start as social media is all about entertainment.

The whole social media industry is oozing with entertainment, your job is just to narrow it down and drip feed it to your fans. Don’t copy and paste links, take the time to give your social media posts a unique voice, a perfectly sized image and a relevant link for more information.

Always ask yourself…..

… would I want this post to appear on my personal social media account?

Look for posts that inspire you to want to re-share, re-tweet, re-hashtag, re-instagram and re-everything else under the social media sun. Think about what makes that particular content interesting that it would make you want to share it. Apply those principals to whenever you add a new comment, post, photo, link, video etc. This way you know you cannot go wrong because the content is genuine.

STEP 2: LIKE

Don’t be afraid to show glimpses of behind the scenes.

Getting a Like is like a ripple of applause, you will only get them if the content is worth it. Show what the app is made of or where it was made, allow people to relate to not only what your brand is all about but the people behind it. Social media is a lifestyle choice, you need to respect that and join in.

If you are not getting many Likes, test the peak times when the content would be most welcome to viewers. Is it light to read? Is it just a humorous image or an innocent ‘good morning’?

Like your app, you need to tailor your social media to your demographics.

Research conducted shows that posting on Facebook 3 times a day is optimal, and interactions are the highest on Sunday evening.

STEP 3: COMMENT

Everyone likes a good debate, a motivational quote, a controversial point of view. You need to encourage conversation by having a clear voice and opinion on current trends, unique stories that are relevant to your app so people have something to come back for and something to interact with.

Always remember Social Media is a 2 way communication tool, therefore you should not be the only one communicating out.

This is how your app will become social in social media.
